Georgian filmmaker Mariam Kapanadze’s film selected by the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OlAF).
OlAF is the North America’s biggest and longest-running animation film festival.
Founded in 1975 by the Canadian Film Institute, the OlAF is on the prestigious qualifying festivals list of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences which allows the OlAF Grand Prize winner for best Independent Short to bypass the usual qualification process for the Oscars. In 2020, the OIAF received a total of 1950 entries from 84 countries and selected 98 of those entries for competition.
We are glad to announce that the Ottawa International Animation Festival this year presents the young Georgian filmmaker Mariam Kapanadze with film “Abandoned village”.
The online version of the OIAF runs September 22 to October 3.
The Georgian film will be screened online on September 27th at 7pm.
